What’s So Special about Ubud?
Ubud has always been known for its uniqueness. It attracts different kind of travelers. Those who come mainly for culture, arts, the slow paced life style, and maybe experiences closer to the real Balinese life.
What you expect to see in Ubud?
The villages around the Ubud centre are very interesting for the westeners. Despite the tourist influence, these villages still retain their local identity. You will be able to see the farmers going to their rice field, the sellers go to market, and the artists work in their home. You will still be able to see authentic scene such as these.
What to do in Ubud?
You can explore Ubud, find interesting places, try new restaurants, and walk in villages and rice fields. Enjoy the true way of the Balinese live. If you fancy monkeys, you step into the monkey forest in the main road that goes to centre of Ubud.
You can learn Yoga, meditation and healing in Ubud. Over the years, there are many healers, yoga teachers, shamman that came to Ubud.
Go into Yoga Barn and enroll a couple of Yoga lesson while you are here. Who knows you will get an interesting enlightment here. Go to Bali Usada Meditasi and meet the meditation teacher.
Some international festivals also take place in Ubud. Ubud Writers and Readers festival is held every October.(Hope that they can sponsor this year..
