Sanur: the sunrise town
Sanur is known for its beautiful sun rises. Many Balinese visit this beach in the morning especially on special day like the first day of the New Year, or a day after knowledge day festival. It is also a place that well-known for a quieter place than Kuta. Those who dislike the hustle and bustle in Kuta would prefer to stay in the you can do in the in Sanur.
Sanur is located in the south eastern part of Bali and its about 14 km from Nusa Dua and 7 km from Kuta. It takes about 20 min to drive from Bali International airport.
Sanur beach
Sanur beach extends for about 10 km. There are many hotels, bungalows, Villas, and homestays located along the side of this beach. You can easily see the beach if you are staying in one of the accommodation here. You can also access the beach through a small roads from the main street.
Restaurant and shopping centres
Along the main street of Jalan Danau Tamblingan, you can see a lot of restaurants, shops, moneychangers, and one shopping centre called Hardy’s. At Hardy’s, a different varieties of items are available. At the first floor, there is a restaurant and a coffee shop or a bakery. Going to the next floor you will see wooden carvings and are the type of souvenirs.
Walking along the main street
It is quite safe to walk at the evening along the main street of Sanur. You can do so while enjoying what the town look like. You probably want to explore the neighbourhood of where you staying or trying different restaurants. You can also walk along the beach of Sanur where you can meet many of the locals try to sell you things or visit the local market around the beach. There are also some seafood restaurants available in this area. Seeing the sun rise If you are an early riser, you can get up at around six o’clock in the morning and see the sun rise beyond the Sea horizon. But like most of the travellers, maybe you would like to skip sunrise and continue your sleep.
